Puppy dog tracksuit!!!!

This is the dreaded puppy dog tracksuit that I made for DS2..........I made it all and was so happy with how it turned out....Until I tried it on DS, well it wouldn't go over his head LOL!!!!!! I guess it was my fault for altering the pattern hay!!!!!!!! But after 2 hours of unpicking, sewing, unpicking etc, I have finally added a zip to the back of it, and now it fits!!!!!!!! It isn't the best sewing as I had so much unpicking etc, but it is at the back so hopefully not to many people will notice...At least he can wear it now and it won't go in the bin, as it nearly did so many times......
Puppy dog tracksuit...........
And the tracksuit on DS2, it is a little bit too big on him, but at least it will last a little longer.......... The brown tracksuit material is part of the yucky colour materials that my mum got me ages ago, but it doesn't look to bad now!!!!!!The puppy dog material is part of the stash that Vikki got me!!!!!!!

It's fantastic! After all that trouble I'm so glad you were able to fix it up, well worth it. Can you load your pics so that they are bigger?? I'd love to see some close up pics :-)

Hi Emma, both those tracksuits look fantastic! I love the appliques on the blue top. And the dog print works really well with the brown fabric.
If your tops have seams along the top of the shoulder it is easy to add a bit extra to the seam when cutting out the pattern pieces to make a facing, then you can overlap the two pices and add buttons, snaps or velcro. Have you got any of the Kwik Sew books? They are great for that sort of thing.

I laughed at your DHs comment. That's the problem with boy's clothes - usually the only bright, attractive fabric is used for PJs and everything else is drab browns, greys and blacks. I made Jack some bright cotton pants with ducks on one set and monsters on the other but they've only been worn as PJs and it is a shame because I really love them!
